If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cusco, yet stay in a privileged location nearby, the Sacred Valley is your perfect vantage point. The valley offers a privileged climate, beautiful scenery, picturesque villages and friendly local people and last, but not least, a moderate altitude, making it easier to adjust to the thin mountain air.
In this pastoral setting it is still possible to experience rural Peru and its ancient traditions, some of which date back even to pre-Inca times. Visit the colorful artisan markets and authentic villages, where some of the earliest relics of colonial Peru can be found preserved in ancient churches and convents. The serene and timeless landscape inspires a deep sense of tranquility. Yet, those also interested in more adventurous activities, such as climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking and river rafting, will be raptured by the opportunities for active pursuits in this enthralling environment. |
