An air transfer into Belize City will be the start of your tour of the Wonderful Wildlife Habitat (the Belize Zoo) created as a sanctuary for the country's indigenous animals. It was first created for animals which were injured or donated to the facility and could not be returned to the wild, so a habitat was created for them to live as close to nature as possible.

Then on to see the "City Sights". Belize City today remains the commercial capital of the country and is home to about 75,000 people. The Colonial Governor's Mansion, Redbrick St. John's Cathedral and the Supreme Court buildings flanked by cannons used in the "Battle of St. George's Caye" is 1798 between the Baymen and the Spanish Armada. Colonial wooden architecture is evident throughout many of the city's buildings.
Your guide will provide an interesting history of the city. If time permits, a stop can be made at the colonial "Great House", home to the Smokey Mermaid Restaurant & Captain's Bar for refreshments (not included in cost of tour) before returning to your boat or local airport for transfer to San Pedro.
