This
beautiful tropical resort in next to the beach and it is made out to be one of
the best hotels in Ambergris Caye. The view from the sea is tantalizing; a
thatched roof village is strewn along the white sand beach at water's edge.
There is a long wooden pier, clusters of tall coconut palms, streamers on poles
driven into the sand, lounge
chairs lining the beach.
There are 60 cabanas in all, spread across 500 feet of beach front and arranged
in groups around attractive and
beautifully landscaped courtyards.
With several different exterior/interior designs to accommodate a variety of
needs there's something for everyone. Many rooms are air conditioned and those
that aren't, face the sea and are cooled by breezes and overhead fans. Rooms are
divided into three
basic
categories, Beach front, Seaside, and Garden view, in addition, there are several one
and two bedroom suites complete with kitchenettes, and a Honeymoon Cabana.
The
furniture is constructed of Honduran White
Pine
frames, with inset split rattan panels. White sand walls are tastefully
decorated with paintings by local artists. Verandas at the entrance of each
cabana provide a place to sit and enjoy the fresh sea breezes, Caribbean views
and tropical landscape. (Choice of Garden or Sea View)
While there are many attractions for every member of the family, Ambergris Cayes,
is a natural paradise for scuba divers. The worlds second longest barrier reef
(186 miles) is only 1/2 mile offshore. In addition, Belizean waters are home to
(3) of the Northern Hemispheres (4) Living Atolls; Turneffe, Lighthouse, and
Glover Reef. Two of these, Turneffe and Lighthouse (home of the Blue Hole) are
easily accessed by day from Ambergris Caye.
Protected
waters inside the barrier reef provide numerous dive sites. Shallow waters with
colorful coral formations, make these sites excellent for the novice diver, yet
interesting to the more experienced diver. There are in excess of 40 dive sites
along the barrier reef adjacent to Ambergris, marked with permanent mooring
buoys. Coral canyons and caverns, with visibility generally 80 - 100 feet allow
some of the worlds best scuba diving. The outer atolls at Turneffe and
Lighthouse are a must for veteran divers, with sites like The Blue Hole and Half
Moon Caye Wall. Ramon Village is one of the premier dive operations in the
country of Belize.
