Day 04 PARACAS-NASCA
08:00 Excursion by boat to the Ballestas Islands, which are called "Little Galapagos" and where you can see enormous concentrations of sea birds and the South American sea lions in their natural habitat.
Late Afternoon departure by private car to Nazca. One the way stop at Ica to visit Huacachina Lagoon and the Regional Museum. Continue to Nasca overnight at Oro Viejo Hotel. Accommodation

Day 05 NASCA-AREQUIPA
09.00 Transfer to the airfield and flight over the Nazca Lines: gigantic drawings and geometrical figures, representing animals, such as a spider, a monkey and several birds, and believed to be an enormous calendar. (35 minutes).

Day 06 AREQUIPA
06.00 approximately Arrival, reception and transfer to the Casa Andina Areuipa Hotel.
Afternoon visit of the Chilina Valley and the old San Lazaro district. General view of the city from the Yanahuara Belvedere, the Plaza de Armas and its Cathedral, the cloisters of the Compañia Church and Church and Square of the San Francisco, and the extraordinary Santa Catalina convent, which is built from volcanic lava and dates from the l6th century.

Day 07 AREQUIPA-COLCA VALLEY
Early departure from Arequipa, passing near the thermal baths of Yura and climbing up towards the "National Reserve of Pampa de Cañahuas" (Km 95 and 3,800 metres above sea-level), where groups of alpacas, vicuñas and sometimes guanacos can be seen. After driving several hours more, the descent to the Colca Valley starts. On the way, visit to some caves to see prehistoric drawings, before arriving at Callalli, where huge rock formations resemble mediaeval castles and to Sibayo, a small village with a primitive church, on the Colca River. The trip continues down the valley, passing next to several villages till the arrival at Chivay, the most important town of the valley. Accommodation at Casa Andina Colca (all meals included)

Day 08 COLCA VALLEY - AREQUIPA
Drive down the valley and on the way you will see the beautiful Inca terraces. From the Cruz del Condor you can get a fine view of the condors flying above and below you as well as of the depth of the canyon. Further down the valley at Cabanaconde, the view is even more spectacular and you will see the villages on the opposite side, which seem to be clinging to the very walls of the canyon.
Return to the hotel for lunch and early afternoon departure to Arequipa via Patapampa and the viewpoint of the volcanoes (6 hours). Accommodation at Casa Andina Arequipa

Day 09 AREQUIPA-JULIACA - PUNO
Transfer to the airport. Flight Arequipa-Juliaca
En route visit the Sillustani ruins Located about 35 kms/22 miles from Puno, on the road to Juliaca, these funerary towers date from the 13th century. The highest measures about 12 metres/38 feet. Superb landscapes and the view of the neighbouring Umayo Lake make this tour a very special experience.

UROS-TAQUILE
Transfer to the port. A short distance by boat from Puno on Lake
Titicaca, are the floating islands made of reeds, inhabited by the Uros.
They live in huts built on platforms of reeds, not more than 30-40 cms/1
foot thick. Short walk on islands.
After visiting the floating islands of the Uros Indians, the boat trip
on Lake Titicaca continues as far as the island of Taquile.
Members of this self-supporting Aymara community receive visitors in
their colourful national costume and show them around the island.
Taquile is renown for its fine, decorative weavings. Lunch included.
In the afternoon return by boat to Puno

Day 11 PUNO-CUSCO
07.00 Transfer to bus station.
07.30 Departure by bus from Puno to cuzco (7 to 8 hours), visiting en route Sillustani. The trip continues toward Cuzco with a stop at the Inca ruins of Pucará and at La Raya Pass, at 4,321 metres / 14,260 ft to visit the steaming pools of hot water. Shortly before rrival in Cuzco we visit the Church of Andahuaylillas, also called the "Sixtine Chapel of America", the Pikillacta ruins and of the temple of Raqchi; the remains of the central high wall of the Viracocha Temple, probably the largest roofed building built by the Incas, are impressive. On either side of the high wall, great sloping roofs were supported by rows of unusual round pillars, also of masonry topped by adobe. Nearby are the remains of large living quarters and many round store-houses. The whole complex is surrounded by a large stone wall several miles long. Arrival in Cuzco in the early afternoon. Buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Sicuani. Reception in Cusco and transfer to Terra Andina Hotel

 Day 12 CUSCO
Morning at leisure to adapt to altitude.
In the afternoon, guided visit of the four ruins nearby, the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, overlooking the city of Cuzco, a pre Inca architectural masterpiece; Kenko, a rock sanctuary whose main attraction is a monolithic altar representing a puma, the red Fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins Continuation to the city to visit the Main Square, the Cathedral with its religious Art Museum, the Santo Domingo Church built on top of the Koricancha, temple of the sun during the Inca period. CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY
Full day excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Pisac Market. Visit to the village of Pisac, founded during Colonial times, set at the foot of a hill crowned by the remains of an Inca city. Everyday in the main square, Indians barter their products and artisans from all over the area sell their woven alpaca wool blankets and ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions, jewellery, etc. On Sundays it is also the meeting place for Mayors from all the villages in the region, dressed in their traditional costumes to attend morning Mass. After lunch visit to Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which is still inhabited, and explore the ruins which tower above it. Accommodation in selected hotel in San Urubamba hotel at The Sacred Valley.

SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU
Transfer to Ollanta rail station, departure by train to Aguas Calientes, at the foot of the Machu Picchu ruins. Minibus up to the ruins and guided visit of Machu Picchu, which is totally built of stone blocks, fitted with masterful precision. This fabulous city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps, and is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side which were used for agriculture. Lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.
In the afternoon check in at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge or go down by minibus to Aguas Calientes and overnight at HANAQPACHA HOTEL

Day 17 LIMA-IQUITOS. MUYUNA LODGE

Arrival and you will find easily our staff waiting for you in Muyuna’s counter in the Iquitos Airport. Immediately, the guide will take you to the harbor in nice buses while you look Iquitos. Our speed boats will be waiting for you, ready to travel three hours upriver on the Amazon. Muyuna staff will be ready to welcome you with a typical drink. After setting in your bungalow and having lunch, finally you will start your trip. The check list with the animals that have been previously seen will be provided. Use canoes or go walking to the “Pungal”, depending on the water level. This is an area that has several strangle figs, which is the favorite place of Hoatzin birds, these birds look like a prehistoric ones, because they have three hooks in their wings middle articulation, you will be surprised looking at them. In the evening, you can fish in the Sapote Lake, where you can find different species of piranhas, sardines, etc., while you look to the beautiful sunset of the jungle. By night, after having a refreshing shower, you will continue with the adventure looking for black and white caimans (jungle alligators), while you look at the stars of the south hemisphere.

18
MUYUNA LODGE
After breakfast, you will make a hiking at the back of the lodge where
you observe the variety of flora that region has. In this hike
you can taste the water of the “Uncaria tomentosa” that
has inside its vain (it is said that can cure cancer and aids).
Also you will be surprised for the giant ceiba trees. You will
have the opportunity to see the pygmy marmoset, the smallest monkey
in the world, and if you are lucky, howler monkey, which roar it is
listened miles away! Also, is easy to spot some tamarins and black
monkeys, different species of birds, and colorful butterflies.
In this area we also have seen in few opportunities some felines.
This hike can last seven hours, depending on your physical state, you
can reach the Tahuayo River. In the afternoon, you will enjoy
the greenest sunset of your life, fishing piranhas and silver hatched
fish in the Purura Lake. After dinner, you will make a nocturnal
hiking to the strangle tree, where is the home of many species of tarantulas
(although their bad fame, they are not dangerous to humans).

Day 19 MUYUNA LODGE
Using canoes you will go to Juanachi Lake, which is hard accessible, because is far and has many aquatics plants that appeared at the entrance, being the reason why you can appreciated the abundance of fauna and flora. Here you will walk or paddle, depending on the water level, looking the different types of birds like parrots, macaws, toucans, egrets, hawks, ducks, etc, also sloth and several monkeys like the night, squirrel and dusky titi ones. The lunch will be served outdoors to enjoy more time in this remote place. Here you can walk, depending on the river level, looking for more fauna.

Day 20 MUYUNA LODGE
Very early in the morning, before the breakfast you will make a very efficient bird watching trip. This is the best hour to look for them because they begin their day feeding themselves in the trees. It will be easy to see parrots, macaws, toucans, egrets, hawks, etc. The check list will help you to identify the species you see. Later, you will be taken by boats to the Amazon River. Here you will experiment the most magical moment of your trip: to see and listen to the pink Amazon River dolphins playing around your boat. Also our boats are equipped with a specialized headphones system to enjoy this unique experience. In the way back to the lodge, you will see the biggest aquatic plant in the world, the famous Victoria Regia. Then visit the Purura Lake where you will find different types of fish, like piranhas, silver hatched fish, etc. After the lunch, your grateful experience in the jungle comes to the end, you will sail three hours back to Iquitos and be taken to the Airport.
