Mamoni River Whitewater Rafting Tour

  This river rafting was initiated in January of 1998. Then, this is one of the newest tours operated in Panama. Depart from Panama City at 8:00 a.m. Transportation will be provided in 4X4 vehicles. After 2 hours riding, including 20 minutes on a road where the 4X4 transmission is required.
The selected portion of the river features soft water currents in the place where it starts. Then, it goes from white water rapids, Class II and III to a waterfall, which is considered Class IV. In this sector, it is required some walking for safety reasons.
This is an exception as you will be most of the time navigating and paddling in the rafts. The scenery along the river varies constantly. You will see open fields for cattle, forest and banana plantations, subsistence agriculture fields and gallery  forests. Gold has been found in the river and luckily, you may see the local gold seekers washing gold in their plates. The fauna is diverse. You may encounter crocodiles, Tamarin Monkeys, several species of water birds and abundant fishes.
 Enjoy lunch on a sand bar in a river beach, relax for a while and then continue with the adventure. Around 3:00 p.m. you will find transportation to return to Panama City. Arrive to Hotel in Panama City around 5:00 p.m.
The price includes 4X4 transportation, rafts, paddles, helmets, life jackets, snacks, lunch, breakfast, trained tour guides, and transfers.
Note: It is required to bring waterproof equipment. Leave jewelry, credit cards, money or valuables at home. Children over 12 can only participate accompanied by an adult.
It is recommended to bring one extra set of light clothing in a sealed plastic bag, as the one you will be wearing will get wet. The suggested clothing are short pants, swimsuit, another T-shirt, sneakers or comfortable shoes for walking portion, hat, sandals or water shoes and towel. Do not forget your sunscreen and insect repellent. |
