Guatemala City- Antigua You will be met at the Guatemala City airport and transferred to your hotel in colonial Antigua. Free time to relax. Overnight Antigua. |
| DAY 2: |

Antigua - Antigua is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the Americas today we will see why. Antigua the earlier colonial capital of Central America was founded in 1543. We will visit the Main Square, the Monastery of Capuchins, the Churches of La Merced and San Francisco, the music museum Kojom, palace of the Captains Generals, the Cathedral and other buildings and colonial spots. | DAY 3: |
Antigua - Chichicastenango - Panajachel After breakfast we departure for the colorful Mayan highlands and Chichicastenango (only Thursdays and Sundays). We will tour the famous open-air market, where you will find that special holiday souvenir. We visit the 400-year-old church of Santo Tomas, where catholic and pagan rites take place in a mystical atmosphere. In the afternoon we transfer to Lake Atitlan, to admire this spectacular setting. | DAY 4: |
Panajachel - Guatemala City Early in the morning we will take a boat ride to the Tzutuhil town of Santiago Atitlan. The residents of this small lakeside town to today still live a strong traditional and cultural life. We will visit the local market the town's church before boarding our boat that brings us back to Panajachel. We then transfer to Guatemala City where we take a city tour before transferring to our hotel. Overnight Guatemala City. |
| DAY 5: |
Guatemala City - Copán/Honduras Morning transfer to Copán, Honduras. We travel on the main road, which connects, busy Guatemala City to the east of the country and the port of Puerto Barrios. At the junction of Rio Hondo we turn south for Copán. We arrive in Copan late afternoon the rest of the day is left to relax or explore the cobblestone streets of Copan. Overnight Copan. |
| DAY 6: |
Copán Ruinas- Today we begin by walking to the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán Ruins, which consists of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63 step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella. We also visit Las Sepulturas, a residential and burial site of the Mayan nobles. In the afternoon we take a nature hike in the rural Copan Valley.Overnight Copan. |
| DAY 7: |
Copán - Santa Rosa de Copan - Morning nature hike in the Copan valley, we pass through fields of maiz, tobacco, rural communities and tropical forest. After lunch we transfer to Santa Rosa de Copan, which is the most important city in western Honduras. We visit the famous Flor de Copan cigar factory where we observe manual hand production of cigars. We then take a city walking tour. We return to our hotel late afternoon. | DAY 8: |
Celaque National Park - Santa Rosa de Copan - Early morning transfer to Celaque National Park. Celaque is the highest mountain in Honduras at 2849 mts above sea level. We will hike from the visitor's center to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest and the mystical cloudforest. During the hike we will learn about the diverse nature of this wonderful national park. Keep an eye out for the elusive Quetzal. We take a picnic lunch before making our descent. Before returning to our hotel we visit natural hot springs for a refreshing bath. Overnight Santa Rosa de Copan. |
| DAY 9: |
Santa Rosa de Copan - Lago Yojoa Morning transfer to Lago Yojoa. En route we will visit Santa Barbara a typical rural town. Here we visit a handy craft center that supports work with artisan’s women of the surrounding area. We also visit Los Naranjos Archaeology and Ecology Park, which is located on Lake Yojoa edges. The lake is famous for bird life over 350 species of birds have been recorded here. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Overnight Lake Yojoa. |
| DAY 10: |
Lago Yojoa - Tela - After this hike we then transfer to Tela and the Caribbean Coast in route we visit Pulphanzak Waterfall, which is the most spectacular waterfall in Honduras. After arrival in Tela we visit Lancetilla Botanical Garden where you will find hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. Overnight Tela. |
| DAY 11: |
Los Micos - Tela - Today we visit Los Micos Lagoon which is seperated from the sea by narrow tongue of sand. The lagoon is surrounded by mangroves which form many canals and cayes where co-exist a huge variety of plant and animal species. Over 350 different species of birds are found in the lagoon and the surrouding area, look for the roseate spoonbills, white ibis and magnificent frigatebird. We will explore the lagoons canals and mangroves by boat. Thereafter we experience the Garifuna community at the beach Miami. Overnight Tela. |
| DAY 12 & 13: |
Tela - These days (without tour guide) are kept free for you to explore Tela, the representation of the Honduran sereneness. Here you have the opportunity to relax and study. Experience the diverse tropical environments just in front of your doorstep and get in touch with the Garifunas. Garifunas are afro-Caribbeans that still maintain their rich culture from Africa in dances, songs, beliefs and culinary specialties. The Tela Railroad Company, owner of the Chiquita brand, where based in this town before they moved to La Lima, close to San Pedro Sula and so loads of contemporary witnesses are found. The abundant fauna in the wildlife reserve Punta Izopo and the rainforest Punta Sal with its laid back beaches are both recommended to spend excellent day. | DAY 14: |
Tela - Omoa - Rio Dulce/Guatemala Today we transfer to Rio Dulce, Guatemala in route we visit Omoa and the San Fernando Fort, the fort was built to protect the coast from raiding pirates. After this tour we continue towards Guatemala through a very rural and beautiful part of Honduras. There is time in route for a swim in the Caribbean Sea. We arrive in Rio Dulce late afternoon. Overnight Rio Dulce. |
| DAY 15: |
Rio Dulce - Tikal - Morning walk to the San Felipe fort. The fort was built in 1652 to protect the local villages and trading caravans from looting pirates. After this tour we transfer to Flores. The town of Flores is built on an island which is connected by a causeway in Lago de Peten Itza. In the afternoon we explore this picturesque town and nearby surroundings. Overnight Flores. |
| DAY 16: |
Tikal - Early morning transfer to Tikal Ruins, which was once one of the most impressive Mayan Cities. The towering pyramids rising above the forest canopy is a site to remember. We will visit and explore all sites of interest in this impressive complex. There are five temple structures, palaces, bathhouse and north, central, and south “acropolis” structures. We return to Flores in the late afternoon. Overnight Flores. |
| DAY 17: |
Tikal – Macal River/Belize - Morning transfer from Tikal to San Ignacio, Belize. En route we visit the Xunantunich Ruins, little is known about this site except that once a ceremonial site flourished here. After this tour we continue on to our hotel the Macal River Jungle Camp. The hotels cabanas are scattered throughout the tropical rainforest. In the afternoon we visit a Butterfly Farm and a Natural History Centre, which are located a short hike away. | DAY 18: |
Macal River - Today we visit 2 nearby archaeology sites. Cahal Pech, which was an important city from around 900 BC to 800 AD. The sites 34 structures are spread over 6 acres. We also visit El Pilar, which is perched 275 meters above the Belize River. El Pilar was occupied for 15 centuries. Different from most other archaeology sites El Pilar has been left unrestored. Trails make there way through the structures and tropical forest. We return to Macal River late afternoon. Overnight Macal River. |
| DAY 19 & 20: |
Macal River Camp - Today we continue to explore the Mountain Pine Ridge area and its forest reserve. The forest reserve covers over 300 sq miles. This mountainous highland area is full of tropical rivers, pools, waterfalls and caves. The area is also well known for the bright colored Macaws and majestic mahogany trees that are found in the area. Trails make there way through this beauty area. we hike these trails while learning about the reserves abundant birds, wildlife and diverse nature. We also visit the archaeology sites that are located in this forest reserve. Sometime will be left free to explore on your own or to relax in this wonderful natural environment. Overnight Macal River. |

Macal River - Belize City - Guatemala City - Morning transfer to the Belize City airport for our International departure flight or extend your stay to the Cayes of Belize or to the Bay Islands in Honduras. |
