The main attractions of Rurrenabaque are the Jungle and the pampas. Jungle: located west of the Beni river and south of Rurrenabaque. In the departments of Beni and La Paz , offers rain forest vegetation, tall trees and great diversity of flora and fauna. The jungle can be visited in the Madidi National Park and Pilon Lajas Reserve. Pampas: located east of the Beni river, in the department of Beni , is characterized by plains and low vegetation. The main attraction is the Yacuma river where one can see yacares (a local variety of alligator), batos, American ostriches, pink dolphins, capibaras and turtles. The area is not protected. |
