Spanish is the official language of the Republic of Bolivia. However, other languages and dialects that are used by the diverse ethnic groups of the country exist.
     Among these languages, the aymara (in the plane) and Quechua (in the mountain areas) are the most spoken. In the towns and communities near to the border with Paraguay, languages of Guarani origin are spoken.
