Road to San Juan crosses the sandy plain of the desert.
The capital city is one of the most modern in the interior of the
country after it was reconstructed after an earthquake destroyed
it in 1944. We will visit the pinciple squares, churches, museums, a
wine-maker and the birthplace of the ex president Sarmiento. We will
continue towards the west passing the San Emiliano, La Roza and
the Embalse Dams, and the Ullum Hidroelectric Plant until we arrive at
la Quebrada del Zonda. In the east of the mountain, we can admire
its parks, the Poet's Garden, the auto race track and a bathing
resort. We will return to Mendoza . |
