On this excursion we will visit a series of monuments that
commemorate the Jesuit Missionary movement of the 18th century.
These are located some 30 km. to the west of Mar del Plata . In the
middle of the hills of the Padres we will find a small lake of exceptionally
beauty. In an actual reproduction of a Jesuit settlement of converted
indians you will find documents related to their history. We will also
visit the José Hernandez Museum , called "The Paternal house of the
Argentine Gaucho". This poet was the autor of Martín Fierro. This master
piece of gaucho literature reflected the customs and activities of this
district where the author lived. The country at the same time is a charming
mixture of farms, small ranches and tree vegetation.
